Thinking of doing an Licentiate, or an Associate, but not sure where to start?

Working towards an Licentiate or an Associate and not sure if you are on the right lines?

Want some feedback on a panel before committing to an Advisory day?

Want to run an idea past someone before you get started?

Whatever stage you have reached in your journey, the RPS East Midlands Region invites you to a meeting/workshop, an informal gathering of like minded individuals, working towards creating a panel of work.

Plan for the Day

Part 1: The day will begin with a series of 10 minute talks:

1) Introduction by Stewart Wall MA ARPS: the East Midland's regional organiser will introduce the day and the speakers

2) Lynn Haith LRPS will talk about her recent Licentiateship success and what she went through and the skills she developed to obtain it

3) Diane Seddon ARPS CPAGB BPE3* will talk about her recent associate panel, which was featured recently in the RPS Creative Eye magazine and how she developed her photography skills during her journey from Licentiate to Associate

4) Brian McCarthy FRPS will talk about his recent successful journey from Associate to Fellowship.

5) Robert Herringshaw ARPS on what it meant to gain his distinctions

Workshop 1: Criteria Referencing

Led by Distinctions Assessor and Regional Organiser for the East Midlands region, Stewart Wall MA ARPS will initially talk about the importance for success of criteria referencing within assessment panels and images and then attendees will be invited to participate in an activity concerning the craft of photography (please bring camera equipment).

Workshop 2: Panel Sequencing

Led by Distinctions Assessor, David Jordan FRPS who will initially talk about the importance for success of developing panel layout skills and then attendees will be invited to participate in activities concerning this skill (please bring prints if you have them, or they can be supplied on the day).

The majority of the day will be spent in a workshop environment where attendees interested in submitting for a Licentiate will be able to show their work in progress and discuss where they are with their panel, which might be before they have begun, and wish to know more, or where a panel is almost finished.

The day is designed to focus on Licentiate, although the Associate and Fellowship have been included in the initial talks to show the full journey.

Space are limited due to the size of the room we are using, and also so that everyone can receive as much guidance as possible
